Year 3 Long Term Plan

We have P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday. We provide a PE kit for every child but your child will need pumps or trainers. Swimming is on Wednesday (Autumn term only).  Every child will need to have a swimming costume, a towel and a swimming cap. Please ensure your child arrives at school at 8.45 am every day in full school uniform and black shoes. Long hair must be tied back and plaited, please. If you have any questions about Year 3, please make an appointment at the office to see Miss Stelges.

Computing

In computing, we are exploring computer networks. To enhance our understanding, we took part in a scavenger hunt around the school to identify the various components that make up our school network.

Attendance winners

We are thrilled to have won the best attendance award for both Autumn Term 1 and Term 2. As a reward, we spent two afternoons at the park.

Religion Education

In Religious Education, we have been celebrating all of God’s creations by writing poems inspired by The Word Bird by Shirley Crabtree. We have also taken time to reflect on what it means to be made in God’s image.

English

In English, we created freeze frames of three different characters, the dog, the magpie and the fox to highlight the unique traits and differences between them.

PE

In PE, we have been focusing on gymnastics. We have practiced various balances, rolls and performing with confidence. We especially enjoyed using the equipment to challenge and develop our skills.

Science

In science, we have been learning about plants. We conducted an experiment using celery to see how water moves through a plant.

Walker Art Gallery

We visited the Walker Art Gallery and explored various artworks. While at the gallery, we had the opportunity to sketch one of the abstract pieces.

Attendance Winners!

As a reward for winning the best attendance, we spent the afternoon in the park.

Science
We set up an experiment to see which plants would grow the best under different conditions and began to grow our own plants.
