E-Safety Curriculum Statement

The complex world that today’s children are growing up in presents many exciting opportunities, but also many challenges and risks. At St. Hugh’s, we aim to equip children with the knowledge to use the internet and technology in a safe and respectful way.

We have embedded our E-safety curriculum into a whole-school approach. It is taught discretely and as part of other areas of the curriculum, for example, computing and PSHE.

Children learn to evaluate what they see online. They recognise techniques used for persuasion and learn how to identify risks online. We teach them to understand how and when to seek help. Ultimately, we teach them to use technology to enrich their lives, and the lives of others, in a positive and safe way.
